New faces out to shine for Brazil

Brazil's post-World Cup overhaul will continue against Turkey on Wednesday when three fresh faces are set to make their debuts.

With Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas injured, coach Dunga has drafted in Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino, Benfica starlet Anderson Talisca and striker Luiz Adriano of Shakhtar Donetsk.

Brazil face the Turks in Istanbul before winding down their year with a final friendly next Tuesday in Vienna against Austria.

With Brazilian clubs embroiled in league and cup action, Dunga has chosen an all Europe-based squad.

Talisca, only 20, has been averaging a goal every other game in Portugal this season and his coach Jorge Jesus believes he could hit the heights of 2002 world champion Rivaldo.

Firmino, 23, in his fourth season in Germany afeter joining Hoffenheim, in 2010 from Figueirense, said his call-up was "a childhood dream come true".

"I left Brazil as a youngster and hardly played there. I know people hardly know me over there. Now I have a chance to show what I am made of."

Adriano received a first call-up at the age of 27 after eight goals in two Champions League games for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, where he has played since 2007.

He said last month he was considering applying for Ukrainian citizenship but Dunga moved swiftly to call up the forward who is Shakhtar's record goalscorer in European competition with 33 goals in 62 games.

Since Dunga took over, Brazil have beaten Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Japan as they look to leave their World Cup nightmare behind them.
