Austrian champions and cup holders Red Bull Salzburg said Tuesday that they have signed 18-year-old South Korean striker Hwang Hee-Chan on a five-year contract from Pohang Steelers.

"With Hee-Chan Hwang we have signed one of South Korea's biggest young talents," Salzburg's sporting director Ralf Rangnick said. "I am delighted that despite international competition he chose us."

Financial details were not disclosed. Salzburg currently top the Austrian Bundesliga with an eight-point lead over second-placed RZ Pellets WAC.
