Crete deducted six points over debt

Greek club OFI Crete have been stripped of six points due to unpaid wages to former player Aleksander Pesic of Serbia, the Greek FA said on Friday.

Pursued by multiple debtors, Crete have owed the money to Pesic, now with Toulouse in France, for over four years and FIFA ordered the Greek authorities to impose the penalty.

The points ban puts Crete in the relegation zone, 16th of 18 teams.

The club lost their manager Gennaro Gattuso at the close of 2014, with the Italian saying the constant discovery of debts old and new made it impossible to continue.
