An Andy King goal four minutes from time helped bottom club Leicester to a 2-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday to revive hopes of Premier League survival.

The result, just Leicester's fifth win of the season, pulled them up to 22 points, three behind both Burnley, who play Tottenham on Sunday, and QPR, 4-1 winners over West Brom.

It also left them just four points off Sunderland, out of the relegation zone in 17th spot and who entertain Newcastle on Sunday.

Importantly, it leaves the door of Premier League survival ajar for Nigel Pearson's team, with five home games left and their three remaining away matches against relegation rivals.

Former Argentinian international Esteban Cambiasso opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a thumping 20-yard strike. David Nugent then saw his penalty saved, with West Ham seizing the momentum.

Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate drew the Hammers level just after the half hour, before substitute King turned in Jamie Vardy's mishit shot for a crucial second goal for the hosts.

It was another frustrating result for West Ham, their tally of just six points from a possible 27 recently having left European qualification well out of reach.
