Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio has signed an extension to his contract with Sporting Lisbon through to 2022, his club announced on Friday.

The 28-year-old, who has won 38 caps for Portugal, was already under contract until 2018 with the current Portuguese league leaders, where he began his career.

The new deal includes a 45 million-euro ($49.5 million) buy-out clause.
