Roar knock out A-League champions Victory

Brisbane Roar bagged two late goals against Melbourne Victory in their elimination final Friday to claw back from 1-0 down and dump the defending A-League champions out of the competition

Their reward for an enthralling 2-1 victory is a semi-final against Western Sydney Wanderers in a week's time.

Roar looked out for the count when Besart Berisha scored in the 86th minute to give Victory a deserved lead after dominating most of the match.

But with more than 20,000 home fans willing them on, Brisbane produced an amazing comeback with captain Matt McKay levelling the score two minutes later, getting a toe on a cross from Dimitri Petratos.

Then veteran Thomas Broich rose highest to meet a corner and win the game with a thumping header three minutes into stoppage time in a pulsating finish.

John Aloisi's side will now travel to Pirtek Stadium on April 24 full of confidence after twice beating Tony Popovic's Wanderers in the regular season.

The other elimination final is on Sunday with Melbourne City facing Perth Glory for the right to play Adelaide United in the second semi-final.
