Bertrand sits out England training

Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand was the only absentee as England trained on Wednesday for the first time since manager Roy Hodgson named his 23-man squad for Euro 2016.

Bertrand was present at Watford's London Colney training base, 27 kilometres (17 miles) north of London, but sat out the session to undergo treatment on a knock.

He is expected to miss England's final pre-tournament warm-up game against Portugal at Wembley on Thursday, but his fitness is not thought to be a major concern.

England travel to France for the Euro on Monday and will face Russia, Wales and Slovakia in Group B.
