Melbourne Victory coaches Jean Paul de Marigny and Dean Anastasiadis will both miss this week's A-League grand final after receiving four-match bans following a stormy finish to the team's stunning weekend semi-final win.

Head coach Kevin Muscat's two senior support staff were both sensationally sent off for an altercation with Sydney's David Carney in the aftermath of Terry Antonis's late extra-time winner in Sydney on Saturday.

The duo have until late Monday to appeal against the suspension, which will carry over into next season.

De Marigny and Anastasiadis were charged with violent conduct and the A-League Match Review Panel met late Sunday to adjudicate.

De Marigny told the hearing he acted on impulse, and when Carney confronted him he shoved the player's arm away at chin level, with the pair then getting into a heated exchange at close quarters.

Anastasiadis ran onto the pitch in a bid to keep the peace but he also became involved.

The pair will now miss Saturday's season decider against the Newcastle Jets in Newcastle.

They can enter the stadium, but will not be allowed into the dressing room before or after the match, or at half-time. They are also banned from the technical area and working with Muscat in the warm-up.

Emotions boiled over when Antonis ran from halfway to score a sensational winner for Victory and dump out the defending champions 3-2.

Antonis had been in the depths of depair when he scored an own goal with seconds left in regulation time to give Sydney FC the equaliser and a lifeline into extra-time.

Just when Sydney were expected to go on and win, he fired home the winning goal.
