Ebola-free Morocco okay to host Cup - FIFA

FIFA confirmed Thursday that the 2014 Club World Cup featuring Real Madrid will go ahead in Morocco during December despite the Ebola epidemic affecting Africa.

"According to the World Health Organisation, there have not been any recorded cases of Ebola in Morocco, so there is no reason to discuss a possible change of venue," a FIFA statement said.

The deadly virus has claimed 1,350 lives in four West African countries -- Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Sierra Leone -- since March.

Spanish and European giants Real Madrid have qualified for the December 10-20 competition with Argentines San Lorenzo, Mexicans Cruz Azal, New Zealanders Auckland City and Moroccans Moghreb Tetouan.

The champions of Africa and Asia will also compete for a trophy won by German club Bayern Munich in Morocco last year.
