Arsenal's Japan midfielder Ryo Miyaichi joined Dutch side FC Twente on loan for the rest of the season on Monday.

Miyaichi has made only six appearances for Arsenal since joining the Premier League club in January 2011 and his move to Twente will be the fourth loan spell of his Gunners career.

"Ryo Miyaichi has joined Dutch side FC Twente on loan for the 2014-15 season," a statement on Arsenal's website announced.

"Everyone at Arsenal wishes Ryo the best of luck during his loan with FC Twente."

The 21-year-old, who has two caps for Japan, was loaned out to Dutch team Feyenoord in 2011 and then spent the second half of the 2011-12 season with Bolton.

He was on loan at Wigan for the whole of the 2012-13 season, but made only a handful of appearances due to injury.

Miyaichi made his Champions League bow in the 2-0 play-off victory over Fenerbahce at Emirates Stadium last season and added to that with his first and only Premier League appearance in an Arsenal shirt soon after, playing the final 17 minutes of a 3-1 win against Stoke.
