Sandro reunited with Redknapp at QPR

Queens Park Rangers announced on Monday that they have signed Brazil international holding midfielder Sandro from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year deal.

QPR did not disclose the transfer fee for the 25-year-old, but British media reports put it at around £10 million ($16.6 million, 12.7 million euros).

The move reunites Sandro with QPR manager Harry Redknapp, who brought him to England from Brazilian side Internacional four years ago during his time in charge at Tottenham.

"Sandro's a proper footballer and a top-class professional -- he's an absolutely fantastic signing for us. I couldn't be more pleased," Redknapp told the QPR website.

"He brings energy, aggression, power and quality. They call him the Beast. He's not only a top-quality footballer, but a fantastic boy as well. He'll lead by example for us."

Sandro said: "I like new challenges and this is one I'm really looking forward to. Working with Harry again, who I share a great relationship with, is very special to me."

Sandro, who has been capped 17 times by Brazil, is QPR's ninth close-season signing after Rio Ferdinand, Steven Caulker, Jordon Mutch, Leroy Fer, Jack Robinson, Alex McCarthy, Mauricio Isla and Eduardo Vargas.
