Morrison announces Cardiff loan move

Troublesome midfielder Ravel Morrison has joined second-tier Cardiff City from Premier League side West Ham United on a three-month loan deal, he announced on Tuesday.

"Happy to get a 3 month loan @CardiffCityFC time to start playing some football again," the 21-year-old wrote on Twitter. Neither club has yet confirmed the deal.

In another tweet about West Ham, which he later deleted, he added: "I got no ratings off people in the club not the club it's self (sic) just people in it."

Morrison, a former Manchester United player, is due to stand trial in January over allegations he threatened to throw acid in his former girlfriend's face and have her killed.

The England Under-21 international is also accused of threatening to blow up Reah Mansoor's house and is alleged to have assaulted the 19-year-old and her mother, 39-year-old Parveen Mansoor, after a night out in July.

Morrison was tipped for stardom after graduating from Manchester United's youth team, but disciplinary issues prompted former manager Alex Ferguson to sell him to West Ham for £650,000 ($1.1 million, 820,000 euros) in January 2012.

He has started only 12 Premier League games since joining West Ham and has spent time on loan at Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers.
