Gabbiadini coy over Samp's derby winner

Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini played down scoring the winner in a fiery 1-0 win over city rivals Genoa on Sunday that pushed Sinisa Mihajlovic's side up to third place in Italy's Serie A.

Gabbiadini struck in the 75th minute at the Luigi Ferraris stadium to hand Samp the three points that left them only four behind Juventus and Roma and, like the pacesetters, still unbeaten after five games.

"I'm not interested in (talking about) the goal, the important thing was to get the three points," Gabbiadini told Sky Sport Italia.

Sampdoria have been one of the revelations of the early season, but Gabbiadini added: "We're concentrating on one game at a time, not getting ahead of ourselves and at the end of the season we'll see what happens."

It was the first time Sampdoria had won two consecutive derbies since 1960, but Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini was bitter with the outcome.

"If you ask me, the goal was offside. But for the rest, it was a very balanced game," Gasperini told Sky Sport.

Genoa sit mid-table, with one win and two defeats from five games.
