Coach hits out at 'naive' Sassuolo

Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco hit out at his "naive" side after Ze Eduardo's injury-time leveller snatched a share of the spoils for Serie A relegation candidates Cesena on Saturday.

Sassuolo looked to be heading into the top half of the table after Italy striker Simone Zaza beat Nicola Leali from the spot in the 76th minute after Sime Vrsaljko tumbled under a challenge from Hordu Magnusson.

But the Tuscans' hopes of hanging on for a fifth win in 16 games ended in the fourth minute of added-on time when Gregoire Defrel fired a cross to the back post for Ze Eduardo to beat Alberto Pomini in the hosts' net.

"We're ending 2014 on an angry note because this was a game we were winning and should have won," Di Francesco told Sky Sport.

"It's become a habit of ours to concede goals at the last minute and we lacked concentration at key points of the game.

"We've been a little naive."

Cesena's sixth draw of the campaign did little to improve their hopes of moving out of the drop zone.

Domenico Di Carlo's men remain second from bottom, 30 points behind leaders Juventus and three ahead of Parma.

Roma host Milan in Saturday's late game, looking to move back to within a point of Juve, 3-1 winners away to Cagliari on Thursday.
