Deon Hotto scored twice to give Namibia a 2-0 victory over Mozambique in South Africa Saturday and a first Cosafa Cup title.

The winger from newly-promoted South African Premiership side Golden Arrows struck after 36 and 75 minutes of the final in north-west mining village Moruleng.

He chipped the ball over goalkeeper Cesar Machava to put the 'Brave Warriors' ahead in hot, late South African autumn conditions.

And victory was clinched when Hotto latched on to a cross and his shot took a deflection over the goalkeeper and into the net.

Both countries were chasing a maiden southern Africa football championship title after Namibia finished runners-up twice and Mozambique once.

Sarivahy Vombola scored twice within three minutes to earn Madagascar a 2-1 victory over Botswana in the third-place play-off a few hours earlier.

Vombola struck after 16 and 18 minutes and Botswana substitute Segolame Boy halved the deficit six minutes from time to create a tense climax.

Malawi won the final of a plate competition contested by the losing quarter-finalists with a 1-0 win against Zambia in a match marred by two red cards.
