Japanese striker Okazaki joins Foxes

Japan international Shinji Okazaki has agreed to join Leicester City from Mainz 04 on a four-year deal, the player told his new club's website.

The 29-year-old has yet to gain a work permit but if he does -- with 43 goals in 93 internationals for Japan it should be a formality -- he will become the Foxes' third summer signing after centre-half Robert Huth and left back Christian Fuchs.

"I am very happy to be here. To play in the Premier League is my dream and I will make every effort to help the team here at Leicester City," Okazaki told lcfc.com.

"I will do my best to show how I can play and try to make a lot of goals for the supporters.

"I watched every match (last season) in the Premier League not all of them are easy. There were hard games.

"In the last few games the crowd were great and the players responded. It was an amazing result at the end of the season."

Okazaki scored nine times for Mainz last season as they finished 11th.
