Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli will not abandon his team's trademark attacking style when they face a star-studded Argentina side in the Copa America final, he said on Friday.

Argentine-born Sampaoli's teams have forged a reputation for energetic, all-action displays over the years and that approach has helped propel Chile into Saturday's final as tournament top-scorers with 12 goals.

But while some teams might be tempted to adopt a more cagey approach against an Argentina side who tore Paraguay apart on the counter-attack in a 6-1 semi-final drubbing, Sampaoli is adamant his team will not change tactics.

"Our preparations have been similar to previous matches. Of course we are taking some things into consideration about our opponents, but our system will not change," Sampaoli told a press conference.

"We will try to dominate the game and the game may depend on who dominates who. But the system we have used has given us the opportunity to be where we are now, in the final, and we intend to continue playing the same way."

Chile, who have never beaten Argentina in the Copa America, are also chasing their first title after 99 years of trying.

Argentina are seeking a record-equalling 14th title and their first major trophy since 1993.

Sampaoli meanwhile declined to comment about a plan to combat the threat posed by Argentina's "Fantastic Four" -- Lionel Messi, Javier Pastore, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria.

"We have spoken to the players about some of our concerns and we have communicated some things that we believe are important to keep in mind so that we have a good game," Sampaoli said.

Saturday's final takes place at 5pm local time (2000 GMT) and will be the only match of the tournament to feature 30 minutes of extra time if the scores are tied after 90 minutes.
