Leicester City have signed French midfielder N'Golo Kante from Ligue 1 side Caen for an undisclosed fee, the club website reported on Monday.

Kante, 24, joins on a four-year deal and becomes new manager Claudio Ranieri's first signing. He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's Premier League opener against Sunderland.

He joins Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki as new arrivals at Leicester, who finished 14th last season after avoiding the drop by hitting a remarkable vein of form in the run-in.
