Celtic sign Allan from Hibernian

Celtic have signed Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan for an undisclosed fee, the Scottish champions announced on Friday.

Allan, a boyhood fan of Celtic's Glasgow rivals Rangers, agreed a four-year contract with the Parkhead club after catching the eye of Hoops manager Ronny Deila last season.

The 23-year-old's impressive displays for Hibs saw him voted PFA Scotland Championship player of the year and the former West Bromwich Albion player is delighted to get the chance to test himself in the Scottish top-flight.

"I am absolutely delighted to sign for Celtic, such a fantastic club," Allan told the club's website.

"There are so many exciting challenges ahead for us now in Scotland and in Europe and I am looking forward to being part of all that lies ahead.

"I know the high-quality of players at the club and I know it will be a big personal challenge for me but it's one I'm ready for and one I am relishing."

It has also been reported that Celtic's Dylan McGeouch could move to Hibs permanently as part of the deal after a loan spell at Easter Road last season, with fellow midfielder Liam Henderson joining the Edinburgh club on loan.
