Some 15 Luxembourg players have suffered a bout of severe food poisoning on Monday in Minsk, on the eve of their Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus, the Le Quotidien daily reported.

The players and coach Luc Holtz suffered violent stomach cramps after eating spaghetti bolognese.

According to the newspaper, three players -- Tom Schnell, Aurelien Joachim and Dan Da Mota -- who decided not to put sauce on their pasta did not fall ill.

However a spokesman for European football governing body UEFA told AFP they "were aware of the situation" and the match should go ahead as planned.

"The situation will be reviewed after training (Monday evening) depending on how the players are physically," Le Quotidien added.

Luxembourg -- 1-0 winners over Macedonia on Saturday -- are second last in Group C with four points and are out of the running for the European finals along with Belarus.
