Five hurt as Croat, Serb fans clash at Athens airport

At least five people were hurt Thursday as Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star Belgrade fans clashed at Athens International Airport, police said.

The brawl broke out at a departure gate as the group of 30 Dinamo fans were heading home after a Champions League game against Olympiakos Piraeus the previous evening.

Police said they were ambushed by 60 Red Star fans, who are affiliated with Olympiakos and had been hosted in Greece ahead of the game.

Dinamo Zagreb are affiliated with Olympiakos arch-rivals Panathinaikos Athens.

State agency ANA said over 20 people had been detained over the incident.
