Scottish team wear French strip to honour Paris victims

Scottish Premiership side Hamilton donned the French national team's all-white away strip in their 1-1 home draw against Aberdeen on Sunday as a mark of respect for the victims of the Paris terror attacks.

As both clubs usually wear red and white, Hamilton decided to show "sympathy and solidarity with the people of France" by wearing an all-white French away strip, a club spokesman said.

Hamilton, based to the south-east of Glasgow, were unable to find 20 France blue home strips so they opted for the all-white kit which sported their club badge and sponsors name along with the Scottish and French flags.

Their plan is now to send one top to each Ligue 1 club in France for them to auction off for their chosen charities.

The tribute was also for Hamilton's French striker Christian Nade whose 18-year-old sister hid from the gunmen under a restaurant table in Paris during the November 13 attacks which left 130 people dead.

"I spoke to Christian through the week and he was fine. His sister was involved in it but mentally he felt fine," said Hamilton manager Martin Canning.

The former Troyes and Le Havre striker was on the bench for Sunday's game.
