Vazquez injured, could miss La Liga final day

Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez sprained his left knee in the team's 3-2 win over Valencia on Sunday, and could miss the final match of the league season at Deportivo La Coruna, the club said on Monday.

Los Blancos go into their last match next Saturday just one point behind La Liga leaders and arch rivals Barcelona, who visit Granada, at the top of the table.

"He has been diagnosed with a medial collateral sprain in his left knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed," Real said on their website.

Vazquez has broken into the first team this season after spending a year on loan at Espanyol, and has scored four goals in 32 appearances for Zinedine Zidane's side.

The 24-year-old will be hoping to be fit for the Champions League final against city rivals Atletico on May 28.
