Adler rants after latest Hamburg defeat

Ex-Germany goalkeeper Rene Adler lost his temper in a television interview following ten-man Hamburg's latest defeat which left them winless in their first eight Bundesliga matches.

Hamburg were soundly beaten 3-0 at home by Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday as new coach Markus Gisdol was unable to stop the rot on his home debut after replacing Bruno Labbadia, who was sacked nearly four weeks ago.

"You end up standing here again, at home, after a 3-0 defeat," the 31-year-old Adler, Hamburg's captain, who won the last of his 12 international caps in May 2013, fumed to Sky.

"I don't actually want to have to be the asshole who ends up having to explain everything, every week.

"I don't want to have to do that after every game, it pisses me off.

"We allowed ourselves to be slaughtered -- you can't say anything else -- and I'm lost for words."

Hamburg are the only team currently in the Bundesliga to have never been relegated.

However, they have taken just two points this season and are second from bottom, while Frankfurt moved up to fourth with the result before Saturday's matches.

Hamburg now have three tough league games coming up against Cologne, Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim, all of whom started the weekend in the top seven places.
