Wales midfielder Brooks no argument in perfect fit for Bournemouth

Highly-rated Wales international midfielder David Brooks signed for Premier League outfit Bournemouth on Sunday from Championship side Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee, the buying club announced.

Brooks -- who turns 21 in a week's time -- told the club website he likes the way Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe develops young talent.

Howe has impressed many in managing to keep Bournemouth in the Premier League for the past three campaigns despite a relatively low budget for transfers and in getting the best out of young players such as Dutch midfielder Nathan Ake, England prospect Lewis Cook and Scottish midfielder Callum Wilson.

"The chance to come and play for a club in the Premier League is a great opportunity for myself. I'm delighted to be on board," Brooks told Bournemouth's website.

"When you look at Eddie Howe as a manager you want to be involved in something like that. He's got big ambitions and with younger players he develops them well and he gives them a chance.

"That's something I'm looking for and he was one of the main attractions for me to come to Bournemouth."

Howe for his part said the three-times capped Brooks fitted the bill as to the type of player that will slot in naturally into their philosophy of play.

"David is a player we have been looking at for a long time," said Howe.

"He is technically very good, has huge potential and will fit our philosophy in terms of how we want to play.

"We've seen enough to suggest he is a player who could be outstanding at this level in the future if he develops in the right way and is willing to learn and improve," added the 40-year-old Englishman.
