Stina Blackstenius scored the only goal of the game early in the second half as Sweden edged out Canada 1-0 in Paris on Monday in the last 16 of the women's World Cup.

The Swedes were also grateful to goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl as her penalty save from Janine Beckie helped them see out the victory and set up a quarter-final tie against Germany.
