Former Hungarian international midfielder Gyorgy Sandor has joined Australian A-League club Perth Glory for the next two seasons, the club said Thursday.

Sandor, 31, comes to the A-League after steering the Videoton club to this year's Hungarian championship.

He made 136 appearances for Videoton and was club captain for the past three and a half years and also represented Hungary nine times.

"Australia has always been on my travel plans and my wife and I are looking forward to experiencing what Perth has to offer," Sandor said.

"The A-League is a competition that's growing fast in reputation in Europe and I have been keen to see what the hype is about and it would be fantastic for Perth Glory to be part of that excitement this season".
