Arsenal hit by Cech injury blow

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech was forced to come off with a muscle strain during the first half of Saturday's Premier League fixture at West Bromwich Albion.

Cech sustained the leg problem while playing a pass from inside his own penalty area and was unable to continue playing after several minutes' treatment.

The former Chelsea star limped off in the 38th minute to be replaced by David Ospina, who has mostly been used by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in cup competitions this season.

If Cech is absent for a prolonged period it would be a significant blow to Wenger as he battles to lift his side back into the Premier League's top four in the closing weeks of a troubled campaign.
