Rafinha, Ederson out of Brazil Copa squad

Brazil's preparations for the Copa America Centenario suffered a further blow on Tuesday after midfielder Rafinha and goalkeeper Ederson were ruled out of the tournament through injury.

Barcelona player Rafinha has not been able to train properly with the squad since arriving for a pre-tournament training camp in Los Angeles last week.

Rafinha is to be replaced by Paris Saint-Germain's Lucas Moura.

Benfica goalkeeper Ederson -- effectively the third choice stopper -- has been replaced by Marcelo Grohe.

Brazil's squad has already suffered injuries to two other players -- Ricardo Oliveira and Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa.

Oliveira was replaced by Benfica striker Jonas, while Costa's withdrawal led to a recall for veteran striker Kaka.

Brazil open their Copa America campaign against Ecuador at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in Group B on Saturday.
