Jedinak accepts four-game ban for Sakho elbow

Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak will serve a four-game ban after accepting a charge of violent conduct for elbowing West Ham United's Diafra Sakho, the Football Association announced on Tuesday.

The Australian midfielder appeared to deliberately elbow Sakho in the face towards the end of Palace's 3-1 win at Upton Park on Saturday in an incident missed by the referee but subsequently reviewed by an FA panel.

Jedinak, 30, will miss Tuesday's Premier League trip to Southampton as well as subsequent fixtures against Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City and Manchester City.

"Mile Jedinak will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an FA charge of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video," the FA said in a statement.

"The incident involving the Crystal Palace midfielder and West Ham United's Diafra Sakho took place in the 87th minute of their fixture on Saturday [28 February 2015].

"The player's suspension consists of three matches for violent conduct with an additional one match as he has previously been dismissed this season (against Sunderland in November)."
