Veteran Uruguay defender Martin Caceres joined Juventus from Lazio on Tuesday for a third stint at the Serie A champions.

The 31-year-old centre-back will move to Turin on loan until the end of the season to offer added cover at the back following Medhi Benatia's departure for Qatar.

Caceres, capped 86 times at international level, has made just four Serie A appearances this term but won five straight league titles during his previous spell at Juventus.

He spent the 2009-10 season on loan at Juve from Barcelona, and rejoined the Turin giants from Sevilla in 2012 before completing a permanent move and staying until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

"I'm delighted to return to the club - it's always been home to me," Caceres told Juventus TV.

"When I received the offer to come back and wear the shirt again, I thought back to the years I spent here previously. I love this shirt."
