Roma coach Rudi Garcia has spoken out in defence of Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, who has been handed a one-game ban after being sent off in a midweek match at home to Napoli.

Cuadrado's sending-off for simulation late in the Serie A fixture, which Napoli won 2-1, infuriated Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella and was still being discussed in the Italian media on Saturday.

Cuadrado appeared to be fouled in the area but, instead of winning a penalty for La Viola, the Colombian was sent off and, to make matters worse, will miss Fiorentina's away trip to AC Milan later on Saturday.

Garcia, who has steered his league leaders to 10 wins out of 10, an all-time Serie A record, suggested that the rules in Italy were unfair.

"I don't normally speak about other teams, even less so when it concerns a refereeing decision," said the Frenchman.

"But in France there is a video commission for these types of things -- also for when a serious foul is committed by or suffered by a player.

"It's not normal that Cuadrado will miss the next match. I think the rules should be changed, maybe with (the introduction of) a video commission."
