Colombia shock France 2-0 at Women's World Cup

Goals from Lady Andrade and Catalina Usme lifted Colombia to a shock 2-0 win which stalled title hopefuls France's progress at the Women's World Cup on Saturday.

France, the world's third ranked team, had been bidding to seal their spot in the last 16 along with Japan after their 1-0 win over England in their opener, but must now wait until their final game in a tight Group E.

It was a first World Cup win for the Colombians who drew 1-1 with Mexico in their opener.

The French fell behind early following a 19th-minute Andrade goal with Usme claiming the second three minutes into extra time.

Colombia, ranked 28, now lead Group E with four points from two games, with France on three points with England and Mexico playing later Saturday.

It leaves it all to play for in Wednesday's final group games with France taking on Mexico and Colombia playing England.

The top two teams in each group advance to the knock-out round along with the four best third-place finishers.
