Ireland announce Netherlands friendly

The Republic of Ireland will host the Netherlands in their final friendly game on home soil before Euro 2016, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) announced on Tuesday.

Martin O'Neill's side will play Holland, who have not qualified for the tournament, at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on May 27, just over two weeks before their opening Group E game against Sweden in Paris on June 13.

Ireland are scheduled to play Dublin friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia on March 25 and 29, and are also reported to be planning a final friendly, away from home, after the Holland game.

Ireland, who qualified by beating Bosnia-Herzegovina in the play-offs, have been drawn alongside Italy, Belgium and Sweden in a difficult-looking group.
