Terry a doubt for Chelsea's PSG return

John Terry is a doubt for Chelsea's Champions League game at Paris Saint-Germain after being forced off by injury during his side's 5-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Chelsea captain, who has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season, left the fray in the 38th minute at Stamford Bridge, with Baba Rahman taking his place.

"Hopefully, it is only a small muscular problem," interim Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink told Sky Sports. "We will see what will be the outcome tomorrow (Sunday)."

With Kurt Zouma ruled out for six months after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament in Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, it potentially leaves the English champions light at centre-back.

Branislav Ivanovic shifted to centre-back from right-back alongside Gary Cahill after Terry went off against Newcastle, with Rahman slotting in at left-back and Cesar Azpilicueta moving over to right-back.

Chelsea tackle PSG at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday in the first leg of their last-16 tie. It is the third season running that the teams have met in the competition's knockout rounds.

Chelsea progressed on away goals in the 2013-14 quarter-finals, with the French side gaining revenge by going through on away goals in the last 16 last season.

Chelsea's routine victory over Newcastle left them in 12th place in the Premier League table, 14 points below the Champions League berths.
